How to grow hair fast??

Isn't it the question we ask most of the times to ourself that how to grow hair fast when something special is around the corner and you want you hair to look beautiful, healthy and long.

So I have got you covered, here I am sharing some of my favourite and realistic tips that will help you grow your hair a little faster .

How to grow your hair fast

Inversion method to grow your hair fast

The basic idea behind increasing  hair growth is stimulating the scalp and increasing the blood flow so more nutrition can reach to the scalp which will  inturn let to more hair growth.
This is what inversion method does .
Just lay on your back and invert your head down ,massage your head for four minutes everyday for 7 consecutive days a month.
We don't practice it everyday as body tends to get used to it and won't show required results .
Inversion method

Using scalp massager

As I told earlier the basic idea is to stimulate the scalp which our fingers generally fail to do as effectively ,so here comes the role of a scalp massager .
You can use it while you apply oil ,to give you that much needed massage to release all the stress or while doing shampoo to clean your scalp satisfactorily.
In both the ways it is going to help you boost your hair growth as the silllicona bristles can massage all the pressure points effectively.
Scalp massager

Using essential oils for faster hair growth .

Okay I don't know how many times I have mentioned this, essential oils are one of the  most potent ways in increasing hair growth and maintaining overall hair health.
And my absolute favourites are peppermint and rosemary when it comes to faster hair growth, I just mix 4-5 drops of it with my regular oil and keep it overnight .
Sometimes I like to use it directly on the places where I have bald spots( speaking of which yes I have alot of hair but still I have bald spots )
Essential oils

Eating healthy

None of these tips will work if you do not have enough nutrition in your body .
Our Indian diet consist of all the nutritents that are  needed by the body just eat your veggies, pulses, milk, ghee, curd and everything else that is part of an Indian diet .
Make sure you eat atleast 1-2 fruits and nuts daily .

I hope these tips will be helpful for you to grow your hair fast as all of us are at home due covid-19 so we have enough time to try all these tips and come out of this phase with atleast beautiful hairs .

Hair rinses for dry hair

What are hair rinses ??

Hair rinses are noting but water infused with some of your favourite ingredients, in other words it can also be called  as leave in conditioner. Hair rinses are effective and hassle free and brings back the shine and moisture lost due to shampooing .

How to use hair rinses ??

Pour the rinse on your scalp and hair after you are done washing and conditioning your hair .
If you are trying it for the first time I would recommend keeping it for 5-10 min and then washing  it off and as your hair get used to it you can definitely use it as a leave in treatment.

Types of hair rinses

So there are tons of hair rinses but here I am mentioning 3 of my favourite hair rinses

1)Aloe Vera hair rinse for dry hairs

Take a aloevera leaf
Cut it from the sides
Extract the pulp
Put this pulp on a grinder with 2 cups of water
Grind them well
Extract the juice and your aloe Vera rinse is ready .

2) acv hair rinse (apple cider vinegar hair rinse )

Pur two tablespoon of acv in a jar and will the rest of the jar with water .
In my opinion this is the best hassle free hair rinse and this will make your hair  shiny and dandruff free even after post 1 wash .

3)Black tea hair rinse

Boil a cup of water and put 2 tablespoon of tea leaves  to the boiling water, let it boil for a while and then strain it . Let it cool and your black tea hair rinse is ready .
Tea being rich in polyphenols and vitamin add shine to hair and this is perfect for someone who suffers from premature greying as the black tea contain tannin that stain the hair making those grey hair less popping .

Conclusion :

Choose a hair rinse according to your hair concerns and hair type . You can always try and  see what works for you .

Dry hair

Why do we have dry hair

Dry hair or frizzy hair could be mainly due to two reason that either the hair are not able to absorb moisture or they are not able to retain moisture. When the hair are not getting enough hydration it often tries to get it from the air around us ,hence hair tends to get really dry and frizzy during monsoon .

How to manage dry hair

The best way to combat dry hair is hydration so here I am mentioning some of the ways in which  you can combat dry hair and say good bye to those frizzy hair.

Apply serums or oils post wash

As we wash our hair the shampoo tends to get rid of all the natural oil which were acting as a protective layer exposing hair cuticle, so applying serums and oil post wash just seals the cuticle  providing enough hydration that keep hair together making them feel less frizzy .

Using sulfate free and paraben free shampoo

These two are the biggest enemy to your hair health.I am repeating this again please use a shampoo free from these chemicals as they dry out hair more than anything else .

Sleep in silk and satin pillow cases

If you are someone who wakes up to frizzy hair in the morning than this must be your saviour .
One of the biggest reason for split ends and dry hair is friction which tends to get exaggerated when we sleep in cotton pillow cases but this is not the case with silk and satin pillow cases as the reduces the friction keeping hair less tangled and frizz free in the morning.

Rinsing conditioner with cold water

Let me explain this a bit differently.
As we use steam to open up pores of our skin and use ice to close the pores making skin feel supple,Same goes with our hair, the hair cuticle open up due to steam in the shower looking uneven and frizzy but rinsing our conditioner with cold water closes the cuticle making hair look more even.

Apply conditioner prior to washing your hair

Yes I know that conditioner is supposed to be applied post washing your hair but good chemical free conditioner would also be used as pre hair wash treatment .All you need to do is apply oils to your scalp normally and apply conditioner to your ends, keep this for a while and wash your hair normally and this could be your easy go to thing when you feel your hair is more frizzy .

Ditch Your plastic combs

Everyone of us has read in our science classes that how  hair gets static due to plastic comb but that doesn't apply with a wooden combs. Hence use wooden combs because  not only it helps to combat frizz, it also helps in hair growth by increasing blood circulation and evenly distributing natural oils .

Use a good hydrating hair mask atleast once a week.

Hair mistakes to avoid

10 hair mistakes to avoid as soon as possible.

Hair are probably most fragile part of our body, Hence it is always advised to be extra gentle when it comes to our hair. Here I am mentioning some of the hair mistakes you might be doing knowingly or unknowingly but it needs to be stopped as soon as possible.

1)Combing wet hair.

Hair are extremely sensitive and prone to breakage when they are wet, as the hair cuticles are wide open.So it is always preferable to comb dry hair or semi dry hair.If you still wish to comb your hair when they are wet use your fingers to remove tangles and be extra gentle .

2)Washing hair with too cold or too hot water.

Temperature of the water used to wash your hair is extremely important .Both too cold and too hot water could be damaging to hair . I advice start washing your hair  with warm water as the heat will open up the hair cuticle and finish off by rinsing your conditioner with cold water as it will close  cuticles and pores of the scalp .

3)Conditioning your scalp.

Conditioning your scalp is so so wrong I cannot stress enough, as you keep on conditioning your scalp the conditioner will keep on building up on your scalp creating nothing but a layer of chemical on your head, making your hair feel more oily . It is advised and simply even mentioned on the conditioner bottle to condition only your end or atleast leaving 1-2 inches of your hair measuring from the scalp.

4) Applying a lot of oil.

Some people tend to never oil there hair and when do they do it's like they have dipped there head in pool of oil which is completely wrong . This is just a myth that if you apply more oil your hair will tend to absorb more oil ,infact applying more oil to hair will inturn make you apply more amount of shampoo to get rid of all the oils from your head which inturn will make your hair more dry .So simply apply minimal amount of oil to your head and not dipping your hair in pool of oil.

5)Keeping hair in high pony or high buns for longer period of time.

Everyone loves pony tails and high buns but doing it every single day is complete no no .
This types of hair styles cause alot to strain on your scalp and some people even tend to see temporary baldness over that area . So definitely keep enjoying your pony tail but not everysingle day .

6)Applying cold oil.

I see people saying that they apply oil regularly  and there hair are still falling and still dry . So this might be the reason. Absorbing capability of hair depends a lot on hair porosity but when you do a hot oil massage the hair cuticle, the pores of the scalp open up absorbing more amount of oil . Warming up oil also increases its viscosity making it easier to apply .

7)Using towels to dry your hair.

Those furry towel that we see in commercials to dry your hair is the biggest spam . Infact those towels are the reason people tend to see more breakage and more split ends because of friction between hair and the towel. The best way  to dry your hair is using an old cotton t-shirt or use a microfiber towel . No need to harshly rub your hair infact be very very gentle with your  hair as wet hair more prone to damage .

8)Blow drying your hair every other day.

Heat from the blow dryer tends to really damage your hair , regular use can even cause permanent damage there it is generally advised to use blow dryer in cold setting infact the best way to dry your hair is to air dry .

9)Sleeping with open hair.

I have already mentioned it several times and I am mentioning it again that it is soo important to wear protective hair styles and not sleep with hair open as it really causes alot of frizz and tangles due to friction.

10) Heat styling your hair too often.

The biggest enemy to hair health according to me is heat and heat styling tools . No matter how much heat protectant you apply it is still going to damage your hair .So I would strictly advice to stay away from heat styling tools .Curly hair ,straight hair ,wavy hair every hair type is beautiful but choosing to heat style everyday is worst alternative.

I hope this article about hair mistakes was useful .

How to stop hair fall??

How to stop hairfall?

Hey there Beautiful people,
If you are stopping by this blog then I know what's concerning you and believe me even I am concerned about it most of the times. If you have read my previous blog then you might already  know that I suffered from  a continuous loop of hairfall for months .

How much hair fall is normal ??

Let me start by addressing that it is ok to lose 150 to 200 strands of hair  everyday but you if you are losing more than that and the hair is not growing back then it is needed to be concerned.

Reasons behind hair fall.
There could be a lot of underlying internal or external factors such as stress ,poor nutrition or excessive use of chemical in your hair care routine but here I am mentioning some of the factors and precautions that could be helpful to tackle hair fall issues in the long run.

Things to avoid while facing hairfall issue

-keeping oil on hair for longer period of time .
as it will prevent your hair from producing its natural oils which will inturn cause more frizz and falling hair.

-washing your hair more often
will just strip away natural oils leaving your hair feel dry and brittle. I will recommend washing your hair not more than twice a week.

-sleeping with open hair
Will just cause hair to wear and tear against each other leading to more tangles and split ends .

-constantly trying out new products
This advertsing world is filled with products that claim to stop hair fall ,grow hair and we get attracted to them seeing beautiful commercials and when we are at mid of similar situation it just becomes impossible to refrain from them ,but trying new products everytime will only exaggerate things instead stick to things that work for you .

-constantly stressing out over hairfall
I know this is the most difficult thing to do out of all the things I jotted above but I have a solution from my experience whenever I feel my hair are falling more than usual I tend to keep it more in protective hair styles like braids and buns which will allow me to comb my hair less and I will encounter falling hair less often so ultimately I would stress less over it .I hope this makes sense to you aswell.

-not oiling your hair at all
Oils are soo important I cannot stress enough on it . If you are someone who doesn't like oiling your hair or keeping it overnight I would suggest you to oil your hair 1-2 hour prior to your hair wash and then wash your hair. Oils not only moisturises your hair but also creates a film around your hair protecting your hair from harmful chemicals present in shampoos and conditioners.

-applying too many chemical products
Instead of going for a fancy packaging go for products that are paraben and sulfates free and when going for hair oil choose  oil that are mineral oil free such as pure cocunut oil, olive oil or any other oil of your choice and infuse it with your favourite ingredients at home.

10 things to do to stop your hair from falling

1) Have 4-5 curry leaves empty stomach
whenever I feel my hair are not in the best state or they are falling more than usual, I would just pick  4-5 fresh curry leaves and have it empty stomach as curry leaves are rich source of beta-carotene and proteins, they also contain amino acids and antioxidant which strengthen hair follicle.

2)Practice Balayam
Ref to my previous blog

3)Use essential oils
Essential oil are  potent in growing hair as they stimulate the scalp . I would recommend peppermint oil if you are looking forward to grow your hair fast and tea tree oil if dandruff is concerning you because it could also be a possible reason behind falling hair .

4)Hair rinses
Hair mask are time consuming but hair rinses are not soo take some times from busy schedule and try going for hair rinses as last rinse after washing your hair .You can either go for acv rinse(apple cider vinegar),black tea rinse ,green tea rinse or aloe Vera rinse.

5)Inversion method
Lay on your back on your bed invert your head and gently massage your hair for 4 minutes for 7 consecutive days a Month (I generally do from 1st to 7th of the month it just helps me to keep track ). Ref to my previous blog for more details.

6)Onion juice
Apply onion juice once a week . Just peel an onion grind it, extract it's juice apply it all over your scalp and wash it off with a chemical free shampoo . As onions provide rich source of sulphur which  in turn helps in strengthening amino acids of keratin.

7)Healthy diet
All the above mentioned things will be useles if you are not taking healthy diet .
Have atleast two fruits a days ,few green veggies, peanuts ,almonds ,walnuts and try sticking to a healthy diet .

8)Infused oils
Oils become more potent when you infuse it with other active ingredients such as fenugreek, curry leaves ,hibiscus, aloe Vera, black seed (kalonji) etc . Just heat your favourite oil using double boiler method  low  put any of this ingredients and stir it for 5 minutes turn off the flame off let the oil cool and you are good to go.

9)Clean your combs
It is soo important to clean your combs because dirty combs are breeding grounds for tons of bacteria and viruses so just use an old toothbrush and using any  surfactant to clean your combs.

10)Serums
Serums are important  so as conditioners to lock in the moisture and to provide that shine but those commercial serums packed with chemicals does no good instead make one at your home .
Fill a sparay bottle with filtered water , put a spoon full of aloe Vera and one vitamin e capsule ,shake it well and apply it  on your semi dried hair . If you are too lazy to do that apply few drops of pure argan oil and you will see instant results.

If the hair fall is still persistent  please do see a doctor and seek medical help .

My hair growth journey

My hair growth journey

Hey there, So I thought alot about it that what should be my first blog and one of the first things that came to my mind was my hair growth journey .
It is one of the several things I worked on and I am extremely proud of it  and I won't lie it took alot of patience, time and energy.

So I started growing my hair 3 years back after a terrible hair cut and a continuous loop of hairfall for several months. I lost almost half of hair volume and my hair turned almost dead this is when I started reading about science behind hair and here I am with things I have learned and things that have worked for me in this hair growth journey.
My hair when I decided to grow them (2017)

In a nutshell things I did -
-Oiling my hair hair twice a week
-Inversion method
-Switching to wooden combs
-Including healthy food such as green veggies, alomonds, walnuts, peanuts to my diet
-Avoiding heat
-Protective hairstyles
-Avoiding stress
-Practising Balayam
-Masking atleast twice a month .

Oiling
I cannot even stress enough how much oiling my hair has helped me grow my hair long and healthy. I would usually just mix 2-3 oil together (my favourite are olive ,coconut, castor and argan oil)put 2-3 drops of essential oil (I prefer peppermint, rosemary and tea tree)warm it up using double boiler method and apply it on my scalp gently massaging and moving towards the end. I prefer keeping it overnight and then washing  the other day.

Inversion method
In this method I would just law back on my bed and invert my head and gently massage it for four minutes for 7 consecutive days for a month . The science behind it is inverting your head increases the blood flow to your head and inturn promotes hair growth.(do not practise it for more than 4 minutes and more than 7 days a Month)

Disclaimer- Do not participate in the inversion method if you are menstruating or have any of the following medical conditions-
Pregnancy
Hernia
High or low blood pressure
Recent stroke
Heart circulatory problem
Pink eye
Glaucoma
Detached retina
Spinal injury
Swollen joints
Unhealed fractures or injuries
Ear infections
Obesity or otherwise unhealthy.

Wooden combs
Replacing plastic combs with wooden combs has helped me effectively reducing  frizziness of my hair as it reduces friction between the hair strands.
It also massages well increasing blood flow  and inturn promoting hair growth.

Food
I included lot of healthy veggies, fruits, nuts such as almonds, walnuts to my diet.
I  made sure to cook my food in iron utensils and also drank water stored in copper utensil.

Protective hairstyles
Protective hairstyles are basically hairstyles such as braids and buns that protect hair from getting wear and tear against each other and reducing chances of split ends and prone to tangles. I made sure to do them every before going to bed.

Stress
Practising yoga and meditating for 30 minutes everyday has helped me with my anxiety issues and reducing stress.

Balayam
I practice Balayam everyday for 30 minutes .
In this technique you are supposed to rub nails of both the hands against each other and it is traditionally believed to reduce hairfall and promote hair growth.

Masking
Hair masks have always been important part of my hair care regime. Providing enough moisture and protein are very important factor to keep them strong and healthy .My all time favouriteHair mask are banana mask , fenugreek mask ,aloe Vera mask and egg protein mask.
    My hair right now (2020)
Ps this is not my goal length I am still following all this steps to get to my goal length .
Hope my hair growth journey inspires you to grow your hair long .
